Colombia
Colombia is the largest producer and exporter of coal in Latin America. As peace talks continue to advance between FARC and the Santos administration, Colombia is continuing to emerge as a prominent destination for multinational mining firms. This year, the Colombia group is researching the political risks that firms face, or might face, when conducting mining operations in Colombia. In particular, the group is focusing on risks that pertain to security, governance, infrastructure, and regulation. By the end of the year the Colombia group will publish a final report outlining all of its findings and analyses.
